The Initiative
Community Impact Through Systems Thinking
I founded a non-profit initiative that repurposed unused campus dining hall food to create and distribute meals for food-insecure families in the Milledgeville community. I secured a formal partnership with Sodexo to establish a sustainable food supply chain and managed all operational logistics including volunteer scheduling and food safety compliance. This project required me to apply systems thinking — coordinating multiple stakeholders, managing inventory flows, and ensuring operational consistency — skills directly transferable to operations and supply chain management roles.
Career Connection
This project demonstrates my ability to design and manage an end-to-end operational process under real constraints — directly applicable to operations analyst, supply chain coordinator, or financial operations roles at firms like JP Morgan or consulting firms serving the nonprofit sector.
Transferable Skills Demonstrated
Reflection
I took the lead on establishing a formal partnership with Sodexo, the university's dining provider, to create a reliable and food-safe collection process. From there, I coordinated volunteer scheduling, managed distribution logistics, and made sure the operation ran consistently week over week. There was no playbook, no supervisor assigning tasks — just a problem that needed a system built around it.
What this project taught me goes beyond community service. Designing an end-to-end process from scratch, managing multiple stakeholders with competing schedules, and keeping an operation running on zero budget are skills that translate directly into the business world. Every analyst or operations role I am targeting requires exactly that — the ability to see a broken process, design a fix, and execute it without someone holding your hand.
